Introduction

Basic Overview

My name is Emily Sullivan, and for my Applied Learning Project, my fieldwork focused on working with a downtown committee called the Mansfield Industrial Development Commission (IDC).

• Attending monthly town meetings

• Creating websites and social media sites

• Conducting small business interviews

• Learning about the downtown business community

I was insp​ired to do this internship as my Applied Learning Project because I want to study business in college. Prior to this year, I had limited to no knowledge on the business field. I wanted to get a better understanding so that way I would feel confident when I attend college in the fall of 2017.

Overall my experience has been great and with the help of my mentor and many others, I have been actively involved in the stellar Mansfield business community.
